Grilled Shrimp with Garlic Butter Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

For the shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled & deveined (tails on optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Juice of ½ lemon

For the creamy garlic sauce:

  • 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (or parsley + oregano)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the shrimp
    • In a bowl, combine shrimp with olive oil, garlic, paprika, chili flakes, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
    • Let marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Grill the shrimp
    • Heat a grill pan (or outdoor grill).
    • Cook shrimp for about 2–3 minutes per side until charred and pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the garlic cream sauce
    • In a skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
    • Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan. Cook until it thickens slightly.
    • Season with Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine
    • Add grilled shrimp to the skillet and toss in the sauce, or serve sauce on the side as a dip (like in your photo).
  5. Garnish & serve
    • Sprinkle fresh parsley on top.
    • Serve with rice, pasta, or crusty bread for dipping.
