🥩 Philly Cheesesteak Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin, or ground beef as a shortcut)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced (optional but recommended)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone (or cheddar blend)
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup mayonnaise or sour cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Cook the beef
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Cook veggies
- In the same skillet, sauté onion, peppers, mushrooms, and garlic until soft (about 5–7 minutes).
- Mix the base
- In a large bowl, combine cooked beef, sautéed veggies, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Assemble casserole
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread the beef-veggie mixture in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone on top.
- Bake
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly with golden spots.
- Serve
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Enjoy as is, or serve with toasted hoagie rolls, rice, or pasta!
