Apple Fritters Recipe

Ingredients:

For the fritters:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 ½ cups apples, peeled & diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

For the glaze (optional):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk (or apple cider)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Make the batter
    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
    • In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
    • Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed (don’t overmix).
    • Fold in the diced apples.
  2. Fry the fritters
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
    • Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, flattening slightly.
    • Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
    • Drain on paper towels.
  3. Glaze them (optional but delicious 😋)
    • Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
    • Dip warm fritters into the glaze or drizzle it over the top.
