🥐✨ Stuffed Meat & Cheese Bread Rolls
Ingredients:
For the dough (soft & fluffy):
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp milk powder (optional, makes it softer)
- 3 tbsp butter (softened)
- 1 cup warm milk (adjust as needed)
- 1 egg
For the filling:
- 250 g ground beef or chicken
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
- ½ cup mozzarella or cream cheese (or mix)
For brushing:
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (egg wash)
- Butter (for brushing after baking)
Instructions:
- Make the Dough
- Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and milk powder.
- Add egg, warm milk, and butter. Knead until smooth and elastic (about 8–10 mins).
- Cover and let rise 1 hour (until doubled).
- Prepare the Filling
- Heat oil, sauté onion until soft.
- Add ground meat, cook until browned.
- Season with paprika, garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
- Remove from heat and mix with cheese. Let cool.
- Shape the Rolls
- Divide dough into equal balls.
- Roll each into a small oval/rectangle.
- Place a spoonful of filling inside and roll up tightly (like mini croissants).
- Place seam side down on a greased tray.
- Second Rise
- Cover and let rise for 30–40 mins until puffy.
- Bake
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes until golden.
- Finish
- Brush hot rolls with butter for shine and softness.
